    At Pro coil ? 8.5x11 vs. 5x8?

Im currently in the process of getting an at pro, is there a major difference in these two coils as far as being easier to find things, target separation, pinpointing etc. that should make me want to get the 5x8? Thanks for the input!!

Yes on all your questions, get the 5x8 & you won't be sorry....
I dug a barber dime not to long ago with the 5x8 that was a good 8 inches deep, just saying its a small coil but still goes deep...

Totally agree 5x8 is the way to go. Great target separation in trashy areas and you can get super close to sidewalks/concrete when you turn down the sensitivity a bit to knock out the steel or iron in it and find the goodies that drop off the side.

That would be money well invested. The 5x8 is great in trashy areas and close to sidewalks like shiney says, just adjust the sensitivity down. It is a smaller coil and you will have to adjust your step and swing time, but it is a great coil to own, I use mine alot.

The 5x8 is nice but personaly I prefer the 8.5x11 for ground coverage & better depth...

I'm sure if you talk to bigboar or minelabdealer from New England Detectors here on the forum they would work with you on a great package deal for the At-Pro with the 5x8 coil included....

I had the AT with both coils, I have to say the 5x8 is nice but man it just dont cover any ground..ya only use that in tight places, open fields you will need the larger coil. You will be suprised how good you can get with separating targets with the 11. I say go with the 11 and buy a used 5x8 later if needed...why? cause you wont really find a used 11 inch.

This is true. It just depends on what area you're wanting to hunt in. Open fields, id use the bigger one. I dont get a lot of chances to hunt fields and im always hunting (trashy) parks or demo lots where there are a bizillion targets, and trust me, you need the target separation there.

Yeah Mikes right on this you. if you're going to hit a big area I'd use the big coil but in like small yards and such I'd use the 5x8 or in trashy area's. The truth is, I use the 5x8 most all the time.

Ditto Buzz, I keep the 5 x 8 on my ATP 90% of the time. Just so happens I will probably have a used 5X8 up for sell soon, I ordered a new ATGold from Andrew yesterday and it comes with a 5x8 coil. So there is no need for me to have two 5X8's
